#1) So let me go back a couple days to June 6. Maybe to the day I read that blog and got inspired myself. I did not have any jobs lined up for this week at all. Mid morning on Monday my brother calls and asks if I am free the rest of the day because he needs help on a job of his. I am and I do. 🙂
#2) Not to skip days, I am thinking and just getting started here so bear with me. Thursday, June 9 my brother stops by with my check! 🙂 It can be simple things too!
#3) Also Thursday our son had a safe flight and arrival to Wash. DC where he is attending economic conferences. He might get to see family while there too.
#4) Friday, June 10 a friend stopped by that I had been wondering how they were doing. Got to talk a bit, eat lunch and they are doing okay all things considered. That’s good! 🙂
#5) Let’s go back to Tuesday, June 7. We have some problems with water damage in our main bathroom. The boys and I took the glass doors off the bath tub and remounted them, hopefully fixing the problems. Time will tell! 🙂
#6) Saturday June 11, Today Josh and I went and worked with the WA JV football team at a team members house. 15 or so teenage boys with other things to do on a Saturday morning along with their coach, some teachers from school and some dads all pitching in to work in and around the house of a family that needed some help. What better way to serve the body of Christ and be His hands and feet! I am proud of these boys and the work that was accomplished. They also had fun and enjoyed their time and I heard no grumbling. Just a willingness. 🙂
#7) Saturday June 11, the safe flight and return home from DC for Benjamin and he got to see a cousin and they had an early dinner together. 🙂
#8) Sunday June 12, Sunshine today! Day trip to Bear Lake Indiana. There and back again, left Josh for two weeks. Took a lot of back roads, kids got to see lots of farms, horses, cows, goats, pigs and some Amish buggys. Had to swerve to miss 2 deer on I-90, thanks for safety and good reactions. 🙂 A 3rd deer would have been TROUBLE!
#9) Monday June 13, Finally started getting more of the garden in today. Lettuce came up from last year, already got some asparagus, waiting on the raspberries. Someone else wants to start their thankful blog! Everyone had a good time at VBS at our church today.
#10) Tuesday June 14, I was with my sister all day today for 2 Dr. visits, seems like no biggies, Love you Sis! The two older boys did more gardening. Younger ones at VBS again. A friend called, checking up on me (I need it). A good day. 🙂
#11) Wednesday June 15, Rain for the garden! No watering. Signed up with a service business to get plumbing jobs/work, hoping it helps. 🙂 More bloggers thinking about doing thankful posts…it’s contagious! 🙂 VBS again today.
#12) Thursday June 16, After an early morning rain the sun stayed out all day and warmed up nicely. VBS again today and the closing program tonight was good. Last day tomorrow. Accepted by Service Magic! 🙂 Let’s hope I can get some plumbing jobs. Check them out online. A blog friend gave me some help on getting this page set up like this. Thanks Michelle!! 🙂
#13) Friday June 17, Sunshine today! Got the lawn mowed even though a wheel broke off for the second time. 😦 But we managed to re-engineer it again and got it back on to finish the job. 🙂 The body is rusting out, maybe it will last the year. Last day of VBS went well.
#14) Saturday June 18, Sunshine and no rain! Got the chipper out and chipped our brush pile down some, more to do. Hot and sweaty then a cold shower and cold kool aid (yes, I drink the kool aid). 🙂 Can’t/won’t drink water clear, I’m a plumber, don’t ask! (Okay, I do sometimes, but I have to be dying of thirst and the water has to be really cold). A friend stopped by and we got to talk and catch up on what was happening. They are doing well and it was good they stopped by.
#15) Sunday June 19, Another day trip to Bear Lake Indiana. There and back again. No deer this time but saw some wild turkeys on top of everything we saw last trip. Also one small woodchuck that…uhm…tried to cross the road in front of us. Let me just say the poor critter didn’t make it. The hazards of farm country roads. The week is ahead what will it bring? Does road-kill woodchuck taste like chicken? Just asking. 🙂
#16) Monday June 20, Some things are a little more clear today. Made a salad of leaf lettuce from the garden! 🙂 More to come! Corn, zucchini and cucumbers coming up! Got some computer games to work on my old PC tonight.
#17) Tuesday June 21, Sunshine today, Storms tonight, with warnings and sirens, but all okay! 2nd day with two kids gone to camp, (the middle 2) quieter, yet we miss them.
# 18) Wednesday June 22, Well, AFTER the storms passed, a half hour later the whole area lost power! Got it back after 15 hours! Still Okay. Had to find things to do today that didn’t require electricity. Small group choir practice tonight, looking forward to it. Practice went good, we sing Sunday morning to lead the congregational singing a cappella. Got some work tonight for tomorrow!
#19) Thursday June 23, A combo day, sunshine and rain. Did a job today so I earned some money (these days that is important). Also set up another job for tomorrow AM! 🙂 Praying that any work or advertising I have done leads to more work (soon). The job tomorrow is from an ad in our subdivision flyer. 🙂
#20) Friday June 24, Some sun but mostly cloudy and cool today so haven’t run the A/C lately. Did a job this morning, more money, yeah!! A happy customer! 🙂 Still need more work or a job. Weekend!
#21) Saturday June 25, Gma and Gpa brought Stephanie and Josh home from camp today, so we are all back together again. No trip for us this weekend. We got some work accomplished around the outside of the house today. Going out on an emergency plumbing call! Back later. Did the job! Easy! Didn’t charge much, and got tipped $10. 🙂
#22) Sunday June 26, A good Sunday morning service! Our small singing group was appreciated and did well in leading the worship songs, a cappella, in 4 parts, SATB (me the only T). A peaceful relaxing afternoon, then back for the evening service. A nice sunny day!
#23) Monday June 27, A sunny warm day! Josh started football camp today. Got one thing cleared up today and in the mail. Got some college paperwork done and faxed. Some weeding done in the garden. Lots of garden leaf lettuce for salads tonight at supper.
#24) Tuesday June 28, The kids had a park day today and had fun with other kids from our home school group. I made some saw dust on the scroll saw and got some of my to do list done. I smell Nestle Toll House chocolate chip cookies baking! 🙂 Need I say more?! 🙂
#25) Wednesday June 29, More sun. Got some more yard work done today. Laura made us fruit smoothies! Josh is working afternoons as a service for a church family, this will count toward his going on the HS youth group summer trip next week. He hasn’t had any other time available…busy kid! This is after football in the morning.
#26) Thursday June 30, Sunshine and hotter today. Had a good talk with a friend about Afghanistan (see today’s blog). Josh finished the service project this afternoon. Now he gets ready for the summer trip (He will be gone about a week). More yard work done today. The kids got to swim in a neighbor’s new pool this afternoon (I’m jealous!).
